Sketch Book Work

A sample of some pages from my sketch book. Recently I have been producing work within my sketch books
, exploring artists, and exploring with using different media. Im very eager to return to my studio in London,
I'm feeling not nervous but excited about entering my final year at Kingston.
Third year has fast approached and there is no time to mess around, i have big plans for third year.
Its time to push the boundaries, i know i developed as an Artist massively during my second year, and i want to continue this through third year and produce Art work that i am proud of.

Recently i have been blogging a lot, i find it a useful place to store my ideas, and my more recent practices.
It also helps with my writing and makes is easier to explain my ideas/thoughts.

Work Experience

A1 class, where the students where analysing images, trying to gage and have their

own opinion on a piece of art work, training them in being critical and to understand

how other artists think and create artwork.

The teacher showed me the Module breakdown, and the work that is to be

produced at the end of each module.

A2

These are a more developed class as they are the year above.

A lot more experimental work occurring, using different medias, and

different techniques. The students are looking at a wide variety of work.

Todays lesson is on drawing techniques, concentration on making different

marks and different lines, tones and texture.

Drawing from life is very important especially for A1/A2 students, as they are

still developing their techniques and their skills, getting used to using different

media's and interpreting different artists.

A variety of different artists where discussed from, Jenny Saville, to Peter Doig, Anselm Keifer

plus many more.

I really enjoy working in a college, and discussing my practice with the students, and giving them advice

on their art work, and discussing artists they perhaps have not heard of before.

Fine-Art/Fashion

Recently I've been researching and doing a lot of reading in prep for my dissertation. Whilst i have been doing this i have come across and discovered some interesting things which have inspired me.
So many fashion designers think and are influenced my fine art, One of my favourite quotes is by Vivienne Westwood " Art is a mirror on life, and I have been influenced by it". This is very true we look to past Artists to learn how they saw the world and how it differs to our own. The best way for my to develop as a Fine Artist is to look at other artists work. Some how the past can never quite leave us, this can be related to Fashion as past trends are always come back in, for example vintage.
I find it so inspiring living in London. Theres no city quite like it, London has a great history and culture. I find London a very Independent city, its vibrant and upcoming.
I recently picked up a copy of Fashion magazine Harpers Bazar where i was delighted to see articles containing the likes of Jenny Saville and Lucian Freud too very great Artists. Jenny Saville is discussing Body Image and creativity...something i can very much so relate to.
